Enrollment in Community Health Insurance

Healthcare For Everyone, Everytime, Everywhere

 Mutual Health Association (MHA)

We hope to provide healthcare for everyone, every time, everywhere by establishing Mutual Health Associations in communities.  MHA will drive localized awareness of pre-paid membership benefits. Current research evidence emphasises poor awareness of the benefits of health insurance in many rural communities.

Household by Household Recruitment

MHA will systematically recruit members household by household, participate in ethical and financial audits and enhance transparency.

Community Ownership

MHA emphasises community ownership of the health system because voluntary participation and institutional legitimacy are essential for sustained enrollment.

Poor People Are Not Left Out

Furthermore, our approach will actively prioritise enrollment for means-tested vulnerable individuals in alignment with equity objectives under state and national health financing systems.    This means testing is best carried out in the community with a validated instrument.

Will Work With The Government for Universal Health Coverage

The federal government is providing for Universal Health Coverage in Nigeria.

This is a programme whereby all citizens of Nigeria can gain access to health care they require, primary or secondary or tertiary healthcare, without catastrophic health spending.
